Would you like to get involved in the fun?

Ever thought about breaking into local theater but didn't know where to start?

Local theaters are always looking for volunteers who are willing to work behind the scenes.

Backstage there are people moving props, sets, controlling lights and helping with costume changes. In the auditorium are the people handling the box office, making sure the audience gets seated properly, getting out the refreshments.

All of these people are as vital to the operation of a theater...and harder to come by.

People don't need to be experts to get involved, just be willing to help and willing to learn.

Painters: Whether you're a Rembrandt or just can hold a paint brush, theaters need people to help design posters, create stage props and paint scenery.

Construction crew: Can you hold a hammer? Build a cabinet? Theaters need people of all skill levels to build platforms and sets.

Publicity: Maybe you can write a press release or just help stuff envelopes. People who can help by hanging posters are valuable.

Photography/Videography: Whether it's taking publicity photos or just recording the fun of the production, if you know which end of the camera to look in to, theaters can us you.

Costumes: Are your skills with cloth and thread? Then a company doing a period piece would love to have you create some striking gowns and suits for the characters.

Or maybe you're just looking for a new interest and being around creative, convivial people.

A whole new exciting world could open up by getting involved with local theater. For more information contact Theatre-X-Change for information.
